2023: The year of skin glow ups!
It’s the new year, the year we simplify our skin routine and focus on products that will actually make a difference to our skin. From dealing with troubled sensitive skin, it was always hard for me to find products that actually worked without further aggravating my skin. I spent so much money buying skincare products that were hyped on social media to soon find out the products were not compatible with my skin type. It became frustrating seeing those with great skin providing products recommendations because I always felt they probably have great skin naturally so I couldn’t tell if products really worked. So, after much trial and error, I am sharing my simple three step routine (I will share my top targeted skincare products in a later post so be on the lookout) to help the girls who deal with anything but perfect skin.
Face cleanser: Face reality ultra gentle cleanser
I am on my sixth bottle of this cleanser and I plan to continue repurchasing! I was first introduced to this product by my esthetician during a facial treatment. I am surprised I have not seen this product more popularly recommended on social media. Even though it is a gentle face cleanser, it still removes all the gunk and makeup from the day. It is fragrance and sulfate free and keeps my breakouts at bay. When I first started this product, it was so gentle that my skin responded well right away. So, if you have sensitive skin or troubled skin, please give this cleanser a try!
Moisturizer : Dr Jart+ Cermidin Skin Barrier Moisturizer
I suffer from oily dehydrated skin so I have been on the lookout for a deep moisturizing product that doesn’t make my skin greasy looking. The Dr Jart+ Cermidin Skin Barrier Moisturizer provides deep moisture for dry skin with ingredients that help prevent water loss and seal in moisture. I have used multiple tubes of this product and it has never aggravated my skin nor caused me to breakout. This is a must try if you are looking for deep moisture without the fear of applying something that will clog the pores and cause acne breakouts.
Sunscreen: Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield
Sunscreen is a must! Whatever season it may be, we need to always apply our sunscreen. My favorite right now has been the Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield. This is a mineral sunscreen (I recommend mineral over chemical sunscreen if you have sensitive acne prone skin). However, in my experience, this sunscreen does not leave a noticeable white cast in comparison to other mineral sunscreens (I am an Asian Indian woman so I have a tan complexion). It is an oil free, non-comedogenic sunscreen that is made with a hydrating and antioxidant rich formula.
So here is to you and putting self-care to the forefront.
You go girl!
